{"id":96,"date":"2008-04-11T09:55:26","date_gmt":"2008-04-11T15:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.philhassey.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/11\/good-server-hosting-rackspace-other\/"},"modified":"2008-04-11T09:55:26","modified_gmt":"2008-04-11T15:55:26","slug":"good-server-hosting-rackspace-other","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.philhassey.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/11\/good-server-hosting-rackspace-other\/","title":{"rendered":"Good server hosting?  rackspace?  other?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A client of mine hosted with cihost recently had an outage.\u00c2\u00a0 (Which hasn&#8217;t ended.)\u00c2\u00a0 They want to move their dedicated server elsewhere.\u00c2\u00a0 Any suggestions?\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve done plenty of googling for stuff, but really, personal rec&#8217;s carry way more weight for me.\u00c2\u00a0 We want a host that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>linux (LAMP stuff)<\/li>\n<li>e-mail server<\/li>\n<li>has excellent uptime<\/li>\n<li>can manage backups<\/li>\n<li>has excellent support<\/li>\n<li>can manage security<\/li>\n<li>is able to deal with a crisis (say, a backhoe digs up their fiber, they are able to get your server running somehow within half a day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Which I suppose aren&#8217;t really extravagant demands, but anyway ..
